WebHostingEurope started as a frustration shared by three systems engineers: too much of the European web was quietly running on servers thousands of kilometres away, under laws nobody had agreed to. We set out to fix that, one data center at a time.

From Three Engineers to a Six-City Network

2014
Founded in Munich
Three systems engineers, tired of routing customer data through servers abroad, rent a single rack in Munich and start hosting their first clients personally.
2016
Amsterdam Data Center & ISO 27001
A second facility opens in the Netherlands for redundancy, and the company passes its first ISO/IEC 27001 information security audit.
2018
10,000 Websites & Free Migration
We cross 10,000 hosted websites and introduce a free, done-for-you migration service so switching hosts stops being a technical chore.
2020
100% Renewable Energy
Every facility we operate switches to certified renewable energy contracts — not a pledge for the future, but a requirement from that day on.
2022
Paris & Warsaw Join the Network
Two more data centers extend our EU-only backbone to five countries, cutting latency for customers across Western and Central Europe.
2026
Six Data Centers, One Mission
Today we host more than 52,000 websites from six EU data centers, with a support team answering in four languages — still 100% independent.
